Dr. Bernadette Ansolabehere is a board-certified family medicine physician from Alameda, CA, with additional certification in lifestyle medicine. She earned her medical degree from Georgetown University and trained at Stanford-O’Connor Hospital. After 13 years with The Permanente Medical Group, she joined Aledade, Inc., in 2022 as a regional medical director. There, she develops clinical strategies to support value-based care. She has a special interest in population health and managing chronic conditions through lifestyle changes.
Dr. Anthony Somkin is the Medical Director of the RotaCare West Contra Costa Free Medical Clinic, where he has served since 2016 after volunteering as a provider. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed his residency in Brooklyn, followed by a fellowship in medical oncology in San Francisco. Before retiring from private practice in 2013, he specialized in internal medicine and oncology. Dr. Somkin has also held leadership roles at Alta Bates Medical Center, the Shanti Project, and UC Berkeley/UCSF’s Joint Medical Program.
Dr. Jan Lauren Herr is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who retired from Kaiser Permanente San Rafael in 2016 after 33 years of practice, specializing in midlife women’s health and minimally invasive surgery. She served as the Northern California Lead for Midlife Women’s Health, focusing on education and improving care for pre-and post-menopausal women. Since 2017, she has directed the women’s clinic at RotaCare West Contra Costa and serves on its executive committee and advisory board. Dr. Herr also volunteers with MAVEN, providing e-consults and support to clinicians in underserved communities.
